Job Summary:

As the Events and Marketing executive, you will be responsible for leading on all event co-ordination across the group, working collaboratively with other marketing team members and under the direction of the Senior Marketing Manager.

Your event co-ordination expertise will drive forward the professionalism of our events programme and support the marketing and business development function in engaging with our audiences, delivering high quality, well managed events. You will be responsible for ensuring that every event opportunity is maximised and that our key objective in growing audience engagement and generating business development opportunities is achieved.

Your communications skills will also be applied to support the promotion of events, working alongside the PR and Communications manager to maximise event attendance, and carry out a thought-through internal communications, ensuring that staff are informed of upcoming events for the group.

Some UK travel is required to support the delivery of events, including occasional overnight travel.

Bristol Office with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

£24,000-£28,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and oversee events across the Workforce Development Trust, to support the promotion of products and services.

The role will encompass creative, analytical, digital, commercial and administrative responsibilities. You will work closely with the rest of the marketing team, to plan and promote events against strategic marketing plans.

Event admin:

  • Uploading new events to Eventbrite and the other possible online systems, depending on event criteria.
  • Communicating with guest speakers ahead of events and managing speaker briefs.
  • Collating and checking presentations.

Venue management and communication:

  • Sourcing venues at cost effective rates.
  • Managing organisation of AV facilities, furniture, refreshments, and guest registration with venues.
  • Arrange couriers for items to go to events.

On site management at events:

  • Setting up venues for events.
  • Meeting speakers and ensuring they meet their dedicated time on stage.
  • Ensuring guest flow runs smoothly throughout the event.

Marketing:

  • Supporting the Senior Marketing Manager and marketing team with promotional work for the full calendar of events throughout the year. This will include email communications and social media.
  • Creating new event concepts that will support the growth of the business.
  • Monitoring event performance and ROI, tracking leads and opportunities generated from event activity.

The sort of person we are looking for:

  • Considerable experience of events co-ordination/management.
  • Must have a passion for marketing and business development.
  • Operationally savvy when it comes to managing suppliers and guests.

Person Specification:

  • Evidence of further education (A Level or equivalent, ideally in business, marketing, event management or similar.)
  • Event management including management of suppliers, venue’s, caterers etc.
  • Planning, implementing events including measuring ROI against event activity.
  • Aligning communications plans and approaches with an event schedule.
  • Event agenda management, including liaising with external speakers.
  • Demonstrable event management experience with a proven track record of delivering a range of B2B events, demonstrating excellent organisational skills.
  • Experience managing event suppliers, budgeting and event bookings.
  • A good understanding of event promotion, including digital communication.
  • Developing annual event plans and effectively delivering internal communications around these plans- Desirable
  • Comfortable and confident managing the operational delivery of events, including promotion, planning, guests, logistics and on-the-day support.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work across teams effectively to achieve objectives.
  • Able to use multiple channels, including social media, to promote events- Desirable
  • Self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Collaborative and a team player.
  • Good commercial awareness- Desirable
