The winners of the fourth-annual Inspire Justice Awards were revealed at an awards ceremony held at the QEII Centre in Central London last week.

Organised by Skills for Justice, the Inspire Justice Awards celebrates and shines a light on the wider justice workforce that keeps our criminal justice system running smoothly.

The awards ceremony was attended by a host of senior figures from across the justice sector, including the HMPPS’s Michelle Jarman-Howe, Police Federation’s Tiff Lynch and Prison Governors’ Association’s Steven Gillan.

In total, 23 finalists were crowned winner or highly commended across 11 award categories at the ceremony.

Apprentice of the Year

Winner: Moray Ross, Police Community Support Officer, Northumbria Police

Highly Commended: Jade Boyd, Youth Offending Team Worker, Plymouth City Council

Civil Contingencies and Resilience Award

Winner: Michael Needham, Head of Education & Skills, New Generation Training and Consultancy Limited

Highly Commended: Eleanor Parker, UKRA Transition Lead, UK Resilience Academy

Community Safety and Rehabilitation Award

Winner: TurnAround Programme, HACRO

Highly Commended: Bex O’Gorman, Dependency & Recovery Navigator, Ingeus

Courts and Tribunals Service Staff Member of the Year

Winner: Jonathan Metcalfe, Crown Court Delivery Manager, HMCTS

Highly Commended: Natalea Walker, Acting Operations Manager, HMCTS

Custody and Detention Staff Member of the Year

Winner: Jamie Williams, Enrichment Manager, Parc Prison

Highly Commended: Amber O’Brien, Head of Pharmacy, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board

Digital Innovation Award

Winner: The Growth Company and The Digital College

Highly Commended: Exercise OAK APPLE, South Yorkshire Police

Educator of the Year

Winner: Leadership Unlocked, Scottish Prison Service

Highly Commended: Mel O’Dwyer, Hospitality & Catering Tutor, PeoplePlus

EDI Initiative of the Year

Winner: Footsteps, St Giles Trust

Highly Commended: Restorative Justice for All International Institute

Inspectorate Staff Member of the Year

Winner: Sandra Fieldhouse, Team Leader, HMI Prisons

Highly Commended: Richard Avis, Inspection Officer, HMICFRS

Policing Staff Member of the Year

Winner: Jane Coombes, Policy Change Implementation Manager, Kent Police

Highly Commended: Nicola Dubay-Goodman and Adam Polkey, Senior Justice Gateway Officers, Thames Valley Police

Voluntary and Community Impact Award

Winner: Be Part of Change CIC

Highly Commended: Alana House, Parents and Children Together (PACT)
